What color stage are you taking it to prior to striking? Are you able to get it to a transparent stage? Able to see the mandrel through the glass? That is how I achieve my best colors.

Im not sure, i think its like a tan first, then i take it out of the flame try to strike, it it turns, like a amber, that about all it does

You aren't getting it hot enough. Take it all the way to clear. You should be able to see the mandrel throught the hot glass. Then it will darken as it cools, and when you re-introduce it to the flame after the glow is all gone the colors will bloom.

K i will try that is there any colors that it looks good with it, also i guess you cant use it for stringer it has to be melted all the way in?
Just curious, Jamie Lynn, does it continue to strike after encased?

I encase everything. I take it to clear, cool enough for encasement, re-heat to clear, cool, strike.

can you actually burn out the color, cause sometimes i get the color, then lose it, like when i encased it, it turned out hazy like faded out,

Nope, if it is hazy you probably overstruck it. I have never in my life burned color out of any silver glass. It's still there, you just need to re-heat to clear AFTER you encase, cool all the way down till there is no more glow AT ALL, then strike in the back of your flame for a minute or two. Start with just simple round beads till you get the hang of it.
