I'm sorry I don't have pics yet, don't have my digital camera yet.
I am just starting out, so I'm using MAPP gas. The last 2 beads I've done have black streaks in my clear glass. What did I do? How do I stop doing that.
I'm hoping to get propane oxygen hookup and kiln within the next couple of months. I want to make sure I'm going to be able to do this. So I'm trying to work out all my bugs now.
Thanks for your help!!
Robin

Good morning Robin!! Welcome to the glass world.
Try working farther away from the torch (6 to 8 inches). black lines in clear usually mean that you are burning the glass. ;) 8-)

I think Fay hit the nail on the head. I think it's burning glass too.

Thanks Fay,
I remember talking about burning glass , but for some reason I thought it was only in the Kiln.
I'll try it tonight.

Either it's the formentioned burning but it's most likely soot from the HH. HH's are known for burning dirty because of incomplete combustion. Burning will have tiny foamy bubbles in the glass. But as Fay mentioned - work further out in the flame.
It'll all change when you get your propane / o2 hook up :) and it will open up a whole new window of creativity.

I do have those tiny bubbles too,, I called them my soda beads because it looks like bubbles from carbonated drinks.
I hope I get better.. It sucks to suck!
