Hi all,
In the past I've always used Effetre, but I recently received an order of several CiM colors. Since I've never used the CiM colors before, I wanted to make some test beads in order to find out how they react. Well, this bead has a base of Ivory, with Effetre Light Teal, silvered ivory, and CiM Hades. What I can't figure out is why the Hades turned into a terra cotta color with a black outline? I've checked the other posts and I can't find any info on this, but I did see that several people have successfully used Hades with Ivory and silvered ivory, so I'm thinking that is not the problem. I work on a HH, so I don't think too much heat could be the problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sherri

looks like reduced copper... HH are reductive torches... I like it...

HH has propane as the fuel so it brings up that terra cotta color which is an result of copper in the glass. You can get this smae reaction if you overheat copper green on an oxy/propane torch

It is kind of a cool reaction...if expected :-) I'll have to do some more testing to see if it's consistant, or if it's just over certain colors.

Thanks for your comments! :-)

Reminds me of what happens with tons of heat/reduction to turquoise on my HH. Try Hades with silver leaf or some of the silvered glasses -- it gets a beautiful blue hue to it.

I had some do that on a HH, just Hades, silver leaf, ivory.

It was mostly when my gas was dirty, but it looks cool!
