I had a customer approach me with a question.
She had bought a set of beads from me from back when Aurea first came out.
She made herself a bracelet and it wound up too small so she put it away for another day when she had time to make it larger. It's probably been several months since she looked at it. If not, possibly even longer.

Anyway, she said the parts of the beads where I used large amounts of Aurea and made is shimmer with a gold/silver luster, seem to have actually tarnished. Or so it looks like it to her. Is this possible?

Is it possible for silver glass to tarnish?
I'm not doubting her (she is a long time customer) and I am remaking the beads for her(at my insistance) since I want her to be happy with her purchase, but I am still wondering if it's possible, since I don't know myself as I've never kept any of my beads

I've had some of mine tarnish but took a polishing cloth to it and it shined right back up again.

I've got a bunch of Aurae beads that I made when it first came out, and they look just like they did when I made 'em (at least I think they do). I sold some black beads with Aurae swirls (made at the same time as the others) about two weeks ago on etsy, and the colors were still just as bright on those.

Yes. Silver glass does tarnish. A silver cloth can help restore the shine. It is a good idea to store beads with unencased reduction silver glass in ziploc bags or one of those jewelry boxes made for storing silver. Body oils can affect the beads the same way they can affect silver jewelry. Make sure the beads are clean and dry before storing. A little soapy water, a good rinse and a complete dry (hairdryers are great for this) will keep your silver glass beads looking good.

Mine are kept in a ziplock baggie, so maybe that's why I've not experienced the tarnish dilemma.

I keep all my beads in plastic cases and the silver glass doesn't tarnish. Keep them away from paper products (don't wrap in tissue but in bubble wrap instead) while storing.

Fine silver does not tarnish very much, if at all. Sterling is the form that tarnishes, because of the copper used in the alloy. I am surprised to hear that silver glass would tarnish, unless the formula has other metals that oxidize.
