I've ordered an oxycon and will be getting the torch as a birthday present so I'm trying to figure out which hoses, regulator, etc., to get and even though I've read a ton I'm still not quite sure. I'll be using propane and the oxycon, so I understand I need a T grade hose for the propane along with a regulator with gauges. I see some hoses coming by themselves and some in sets. Do the sets include a hose for the propane and a hose for the oxygen? Also, I think I do not need a flashback arrestor, is that correct?
I'm sure once I get it all hooked up and going, I'll be wondering what the big deal was but right now it seems so confusing when I've only used the Hot Head so far.
Thanks!
Teresa
On my concentrator I have clear hose I bought at Home Depot. Concentrators do not run on high pressure so that's fine. I would reccomend a flashback arrestor for your propane (DO NOT use one on the concentrator), heck I would add a quick release too. I just don't like having an attaches propane hose comming into my garage.
When hoses come in sets, (YES grade T) the red is for propane the green is for O2 If you get a set the green hose can be used on your concentrator. I used the clear because I have tanked O2 as well.

You can use welding "twin hose".... The red grade T hose will fit regulator connection and the green oxy hose should connecto to oxycon... IF oxycon has tapered plastic fitting for connection, it will probably unscrew and you will see the "B" connector for oxygen hose...
And you can separate the oxy hose from fuel hose for what ever length need be...
At torch end it will have either standard "B" (threaded) connectors for welding hose or "barbed" push on connectors. It will depend on torch you are buying. You can cut brass connectors of hose ends if necessary to push them on to barbed type hose connectors that comes on torch and be sure to apply clamps on hoses if torch uses barbed connector.
