I have a little less than a case of 1 pound propane canisters and a few of Mapp. They are full and never used but I don't want them around any longer. Any ideas what to do with them or where to take them to be disposed of?
Thanks for any ideas!

In NJ? Just toss them in the salt marsh.\\:D/

No, I'm joking. My father was from Hoboken and I have family in the Hackensack area. I like NJ.

Here where we live, the dump has a hazardous waste area where they take stuff like this and dispose of it properly. We also have a Habitat for Humaity building recycling store where people donate stuff that you can use to fix up your house. Plumbers need those.

Or call a plumber and see if he wants them, maybe?

The Habitat for Humanity store sounds nice. All we have is 'architectural salvage' places. I'll see if DH knows a plumber. Thanks for the idea!

You are welcome.

Also, lots of newspapers let you put ads in for free stuff you are giving away for free.

Any other beadmakers/HotHead users in your area?

Not that I'm aware of Mike. I thought of that one. I wish there was! Much rather give them to a lampworker instead of a plumber!

Offer them on Freecycle! www.freecycle.org

Or Craigslist, they have a section for free items.

This page is the San Francisco area, but there's probably a city near you in the list at right side of the page.

The propane tanks are the same size used in camp stoves. Do you know of any boy scout troops in the area? They would love to have them I am sure.

These are all really excellent ideas. Thank you! I think the problem is solved. Husband says he uses them all the time at work. Who knew? I'll be checking out those links for a few other things I've got hanging around here!

if some of them are "new" propane, like you use for camping, I would save them if your a camper for your coleman lantern or stove.

you said you had mapp and propane...propane are good for anyone who camps.
