Hi all, I am a complete newbie and need some advice, I have no lampworking experience whatsoever, I may add. Anyway, I am keen to have a go at melting some glass, and I have a hothead torch (never been out of the box). Does anyone know what kind of fittings I need to get to be able to connect my hothead torch to the lpg bottle via a long(ish) hose. (I am in New Zealand by the way) Sorry if I don't make much sense, but I'm not really sure what I am talking about - HELP!!

Check your local hardware store for a long BBQ connection hose.
When I was using a Hothead I found one that was 10 feet long.
No regulators are needed. Just the hose connected to the Mapp fuel tank.

Thankyou Dale and Cheryl for your replies - I can find the hose at the local hardware store, no problems, my dilemma is, getting the right attachments for the base of the hothead to attach it to the hose, and to get the right attachment to connect said hose to my LPG bottle (no mapp gas here!) If anyone knows of the right names for the connectors, that would be much appreciated, there are a multitude of different attachments, and the store assistant looked at me like I had come down from another planet, and couldn't help me much (didn't want to help me either, thought I was beyond help - lol!!!) Hopefully yours :)

Oops... Didn't realize you were in NZ....
I do not know what the standard connector is for propane bottle in NZ, but here are component parts available at places like MCMASTER-CARR...
http://www.mcmaster.com/
Put page "3361" into search field to see what they have available.....
Its possible you may be able to order the 7976A22 (torch to hose adapter) and then get some sort of conversion adapter to connect to your "standard" tank connector...
You need to get a understanding of some of the terminology.... Like what is name of "standard" connector to propane bottle... Here in North America its called a "CGA 510"...
8685
Note connector on right hand side... Forget rest of info in picture (regulator) as it does not relate to a Hot Head...
Any reference to 9/16 X 18 or type "B" welding connector is reference to welding industry standard connector in NA....
It's quite possible if you go to welding supply they my be able to help you....You have to be persistence and speak from knowledgeable position... Do your research well....
