I was looking for a new (to me) super cool pink color and found one called Opal Silver Pink (striking color)

Can anyone tell me about this color? It costs 4x as much as the other pinks! Why? Does anyone have a picture of a bead made of it?
Thanks in advance,
Amber

It is made by moretti. Here is a link to the page I found it on.

It's the last one on the page.

You can probably make your own. Take some silvering frit and heat it to a glob and mix it with a pink rod and pull stringers as thick as you want. I have made some real cool blues and greens this way but haven't tried the pink yet.

You know that looks like Italian pink marble to me.

No, I think it's the regular handpulled Silver Pink #255.

Ellen is right, it's plain 'ol Silver Pink, or Silver (not) Pink. I love it for a lot of things, but its pinkness is not one of them!

Could you show a pic. Does it look silver? I'm still purty new and haven't had much experience with different colors, That's the reason for all of the questions.

No it doesn't look the least bit silver. It must have silver in it? Usually pinks are made with gold in them.

I don't think I have any of the silver pink.

Silver Pink makes a wonderful shade of pale ivory, and can strike a little lavender/pink/buttercream. I use it for reaction-free ivory.

In this set, it is one of the base colors. Here, it's used with Streaky Pink and Rubino.

Kandice your beads are lovely! I thought I was the only one that liked it for it's non reactive ivory color. Great minds think alike. It's nothing like I expected, but that's not to say I don't like it. With just a little more oxy in the flame, it will turn the palest of pink, almost a yellowish pink, like a fleshtone. But like a lot of these opal handpulls, the stars have to be aligned right and you have to be sitting up in your chair a certain way and humming the right song.
Here's a set where the base is silver pink.

Oooooh, gorgeous!!! I love that you put it with turquoise - very earthy and still delicate and light. I love that!

Wow - I am not a big fan of pink, but I think you could make a convert out of me Kandice! I really like the first three beads from the ends.

I used a new bubblegum pink this weekend for the first time. It was Bullseye and was TDF. I forgot the name and it's still in the annealer which isn't even in the same town I am in right this second! Paula

Is it peony pink? Or Peachy Keen?

I'm still learning about the handpulled colours - took the leap in the last 6 months or so. What is the difference between silver pink and opal yellow? This colour looks just like the opal yellow I have (and love!), except that maybe the rubino doesn't bleed into it as much. Is there much of a difference? Thanks! -H.

The big difference is the color it will strike to. I've gotten the color previously posted but I've also gotten a more grayish lavender along with the butter color also. Two different batches so , of course, two different colors.
I wouldn't invest a lot of money into it until you get very good at striking colors and coaxing them out of the more difficult ones. This is definitely one of the more difficult ones! It's a very expensive non-reactive ivory (very cool but...) and the Vetrofond odd lot pale ivory is just as non reactive unless you really cook it to death.
In the end it's all just a personal choice like everything else.

Kandice I almost fall off my chair every time I see one of your pink sets! Pink is one of my favorite colors. I like pink and green together. That set looks good enough to eat!!!
