anyone have any advice for how to make cool owl eyes? i've seen them with I believe DH... and then poked holes - but mine dont look right so i must be missing a step here..... i tried storming, but that wasnt right either. i would love to make an owl for a friend that has the coolest eyes!!! Any help appreciated

I make mine with Terra, or you can use another silver glass. I put a small dot of black first and flatten it. Then over the top of that, not covering the whole black dot, I dot with my color of choice. Melt and flatten that down and then poke a hole in the middle. Reduce your silver glass and then put a relatively large blob of clear over the whole eye covering the black and the color. Melt down so it becomes part of the body. No undercuts.
That is how I do it.

thanks, i'll try that... for some reason my clear is all bubbly - do you know why - i often make poked dot beads and it doesnt happen,but for some reason with my owl eyes it is bubbling....

do you use intense black or regular?

The bubbling might be when you are applying the clear to your eye, the eye surface is too cool. That will cause bubbles to form. Warm up the eye a bit before adding the clear. Not too much though, you don't want the eye to move or run.
also use little heat for the clear and be very patient. This helps to avoid bubbles
