Jail House Studio!

I have been wanting to post pictures of our studio for a long time now. We have been in this studio for about a year now and I just got around to taking pictures today. I wish I had the before remodeling pictures but I don't. The first picture is how our customers view us working. Yes you are correct that is the jail behind us. Our store in the old City Hall and City Jail built in 1939, in Downtown Pocahontas, AR. I have also included pictures of our Pottery Studio/Candle making area also. They are actually inside the Jail. This is where my wife and I spend most of our day. There are also some pictures of the outside and inside of the store on our website www.blackriverbeads.com

Wow. I took my first stained glass classes in the basement of the old court house in Crown Point, IN. There were bars on the top half of the walls. I thought at the time they were old cells but now I'm thinking that part was remodelled.

How fun to have a unique space to work in.

I try not to get locked up, and usually take the key in with me when I have made my wife mad (hahahaha). We have had any ghosties yet. Though it did take me several months to feel comfortable in that jail at night, and it still gives me the willies occasional.
