Hi Janell.

Contact Colin Smith, the Program Director for Beads of Courage. She can help initiate talks with a new site as well as getting your friend's children set up in the at-a-distance program for those who don't have BOC at their hospital.

I sent an e-mail to that addy about a month ago asking about setting one up at a local hospital, but haven't heard anything yet. Is there anyone else I can contact?

Everybody at BoC has been pretty backed up since the CBS Sunday Morning show and we're trying to catch up. I'm sure you'll hear from her soon.

Awesome! Thanks Robert. I'm glad to hear they're backed up. That's a good thing. :-)

I've emailed the U of I Children's Hospital with links to the BOC site and the CBS piece but never received a response. :(

I sent an email a few months ago (before the Pepsi grant was won) and though it did take a bit I did get a reply...I'm sure they are just very busy. Wish there was some other way to help even with emails for info and such, I would do that.

Sometimes we can take a while to get back to folks. Everyone at BoC is a volunteer and we all have days jobs of one kind or another, so we do occasionally fall behind on correspondence. We try to not do that and we all appreciate your patience with us when we do. Your support is very important and we do our best to keep up.
Thanks much,
Robert

We know & appreciate all the work being done. I can only speak for myself when I say that I just want to help in some way & so was checking. I can certainly understand & am thankful that things have gotten busy for BOC since the broadcast. I'll wait patiently for a response from Colin. Thanks for all you do!

So happy you asked this question, Janell. My next-door-neighbor saw the piece on CBS and asked me how our local hospital could get the program. I have been meaning to ask and will relay this information to her...along with the caveat that BOC is very, very busy and may take some time to answer. Thanks!

Hi everyone, and thank you for your kind patience. Some responses are not always so understanding!

I for one, don't take offense (and appreciate it) if you email me again and put yourself in front of me and I'm sure that Colin wouldn't either. I'll polnt Colin to this thread.

And to say we've been playing catch-up after the CBS Sunday Morning show is an understatement. Our emails were coming in at about three a minute that day and things were selling from the Artists Gallery as quickly as they could be listed. Whew. it's a nice problem to have. :)

Thanks to all who are interested in seeing Beads of Courage come to a local hospital near you! We are working very diligently to get to all the interest and many of the areas you have mentioned have contacted us! We are making great strides in early 2011 to see lots of new BOC programs across the US and Internationally!

If you have not heard back from me, feel free to please email me again: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.! Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!
