I've gone through a couple of different kilns through the years but they've always only been annealers with and without digi cont. so I finally invested in something that will allow me to PMC and Fuse etc this is my first Jen-Ken Bead Box Kiln and Annealer w/ Orton AutoFire 3 Button Digital Controller anyone else have this and what is your annealing schedule that you use and what is your fusing schedule that you use so far I LOVE this kiln but just wanted to see what schedules are best to use for this type of kiln.
Thanks!!!

Marianna:
I have the same kiln. I only anneal. Here is my schedule: Ramp up to 940 (mine runs hot and will slump rods at 960) at 1100 per hour (about 45 minutes) then I hold for 7.5 hours (I don't torch that long usually but I don't have to mess with holding it longer, and can switch to ramp down by pushing the button). I ramp down to 700 at 100 per hour, hold for 15 mins and then end the program. I never open it until it is below 200. Have only had a couple of bead break in over a year...because I let them get too cold.

Hopefully someone will chime in with a fusing schedule. Where in MI are you? I'm about 30 miles south of Jackson.

oh my god that isn't that far!!! we should get together and do like bead challenges like once a month or something I have 2 other beadie friends that live really close too and 1 that's in Ann Arbor that's not too far either. It's so neat to find out that there are other lampworkers not far from me.

I hope you'll let me pick your brain a bit more because for some reason I must be skipping a step because I still can't get my set up just right. and the instructions are like reading jibberish lol! I wan't to ramp up to 940 and hold for 3 hrs then cool down to 700 at 100 per hour but I keep getting all sorts of codes that I don't need and can't seem to bi pass. would you mind doing a step by step ish for me like start with the rA 1 etc and what to put in what prompt. I feel like a dork but I know I'm just messing up something really silly that I"m just not catching.
Thanks!!!!
