I think Nicker needs a website too!!!!!!!

I love the person who did Kimberly's website; it is clean, classy and simple...
I am thinking of going to that web designer...

Come on Nic, it can't hurt to check into it *nudge*nudge*

Rose and Jim at Blue Moon in Austin carry both. I talked to her yesterday and I don't think she has the Pull My Stringer in stock right this second, but I think they're getting them soon.

Rose is a sweetie! Give her a call and I'm sure she can hook you up.

So....what is this Pull My Stringer thing? *interested*

It's a specially designed hand held tool that holds/grips a 9mm glass punty rod.

You build a gather on the punty (that is held in the special handle)... and you attach another punty to the other end of the gather. Then you heat the gather until it's molten... THEN

... you slip the special handle (with the gather) into a special handle holder and begin to pull (and twist to if you like).

So what's the diff between using just your arms? You can pull as far as the glass will go, or the length of your room. Record to date is 24 feet - but Vicki ran into the wall.

But WHY make a 24' stringer? Well, you have to cut it down in size obviously to use it8) ... but every piece is the same consistent color/pattern, for a complete set of beads. (This is not unlike how retail stringers, canes, murini etc. are made - but they usually pull 50-100 feet, then cut it for shipping.)

It does canes, twisties, murini... and of course even plain old stingers. Gets the most out of every gather.

Vicki uses an enormous amount of canes twisties, murinin and stringers. She had this tool designed so she could spend more time making beads, less time making "stringers". And every one is her own custom color and style.

Hey Nicker,

I didn't get an e-mail from you. I think we met at the Gathering last year. I was the one with the "Rodeo Queen" hat in the Derby Parade.
