Since it was money for your animal, I think it would be a good idea to donate it to an animal shelter of some kind or something to help animals in some way.

Glad to hear CJ is doing well!

Why not donate it to LE! Without this great forum we wouldn't have been able to help you. Thanks for the glass, it was my first order of Moretti and I love it! Your packaging and service were great too. Good luck to kitty.

Why don't you hang onto it and send it to the next person that needs help with a vet bill? That would be cool...

I JUST FEEL IT IS NOT RIGHT FOR ME TO KEEP IT AS PROFIT.

I think it's just fine to keep it. I know *I* wouldn't want you to take anything I sent you for glass during that time and give it away, I meant it for you and your family.

Besides, just because the original trauma bill is over, that doesn't mean your cat won't need ongoing special care.

best of luck,
Teresa

I'm voting for LE too. Corri and Jason work super hard to keep the site running and it's tax time. I don't know if they had to pay taxes on the site, but this would be a super way to pay LE members and Corri back.

Off to do some shopping. On your site.

Hi Jon...

I, too, have a problem with outlandish VET bills.

I have a kitten named Scruffy,
He continuously pulls his hair out either with his tongue or with his claws.
He does this until he has half dollar size bloody patches all over his little furry body!

(It gets really bad about very 24-28 days and he needs to wear a cone and soft claws and get his monthly steroid shot, which, of course if very bad for him and could led to other health problems such a diabetes.)

Anyway, I have taken him to 5 different vets,
And no one knows what is wrong with him!

So, on Monday I am taking him to a dermatologist for allergy testing.
To the tune of $500!

And to continue my sad story,
I got completely ripped off on taxes this year,
Because I am a full-time graduate student in mental health counseling,
Partially self-employed and was employed for the university which did not take any taxes out for some reason or another.

So,
I guess I am "volunteering" my Scruffy kitty (also known as ScrufflePuff-way too much Harry Potter in my world!) as a possibility of what to do with your excess VET funds. (Although I DO support the other suggestions as well!)

Here are a few pictures of my "tichotrillomaniac" on a GOOD day!

I say give it to an animal shelter or to Teresa (Refined with Fire). It should absloutely go to another animal if you're not going to keep it. However, I do support you keeping it for 1. all of your work to get this glass to us and 2. it was meant to help out you and your family. If you feel strange keeping it, please think of all of the animals that are suffering & need help, the animal shelters that never have enough funds or room, and Scruffy kitty above who needs it. Thanks!

I think paying it forward to another LE member is what most people would like to see done with the money.

I do think you should wait a bit to see if kitty doesn't need follow up treatment.

Jon, we paid you money for YOUR glass. None of us gave you that money for no return. Keep it for CJ, or help another kitty in need with it but DO NOT keep feeling guilty about having it!

I personally was buying glass, the fact that I was buying glass when you had a financial crunch and desperately needed to raise cash is immaterial. I bought glass. The idea that a customer has any say in what a seller does with the cash paid for goods is repulsive. Since it was a *purchase* and not a *donation* I feel the cash I paid is yours with out my having any right to know what you do with it.

I needed glass and because of the situation you posted, I chose to make my purchase with you.

I didn't donate money to your cause. I purchased glass at the going price.

Your profit is your profit and I don't care what you do with it. I'm just glad it helped.

If you are referring to monies donated toward your vet bills that are not profit from glass purchases then a pay it forward or donation to LE is a wonderful gesture and an upstanding thing to do. Otherwise, I got what I paid for, with good service to boot.

How do you know who purchased just to help your cat and who would have purchased regardless?

That's your money. Do what makes you feel right.

Hugs.

I agree with Mary, Jon, I would buy glass from you if I needed it.buy from you because you have great glass and great sevice! I I expect you to keep any profit, after al lthat's how you and your family EAT! The fact that it helped save CJ is jst a bonus!

I second Moth and Misfit. I bought the glass. I chose you instead of another seller. What you do with your profits is your business. Barb

I was outta town when all of this happened and didn't realize that the donations were actually sales. Do what you want with the money! It's yours!
