Cracks?

I have made some really cool beads with moretti amber and encased in Kugler clear which Frantz told me was compatable. They have all cracked!!! Anyone else with this problem?

I have not personally tried Kugler clear, but I have read this ALOT!! I had considered trying the Kugler, but then I started seeing quite a few posts about cracking issues. After that, i wasn't oto keen on spending that much on something that was going to crack. I will just stick with my Lauscha clear!!!

I use Kugler clear almost exclusively and have only had one set of beads crack that was due to thermal shock. Kugler likes to be heated up pretty good before going into the kiln. I haven't had one bead crack due to incompatibility yet.

I know there was one batch that was supposed to have the cracking issues, but ArrowSprings will take it back if that's what you have. I bought some clear when it first came out and haven't had any issues.

I wouldn't give up on Kugler just yet. :)

I'll try heating it up a little more like you said Karla and see if that helps. I hasn't done it with any other color I've used it with so I was wondering if it was a problem with the Kugler and Moretti amber. I've encased Moretti flowers with the Kugler clear before and no problem! I have a bit of it left yet so I will keep practicing!
