Greetings, all :-)

I have noticed that other's beads, often, seem to have more silver in the SIS than mine do, so I was wondering: when you pull your SIS, say a grape-sized amount of dark ivory, how much silver have you wrapped (and burnished) it in? Half a sheet? A whole sheet? Do you use foil or leaf? I want to get as much silver in the mix as possible, but not waste a lot, either. Are there any tricks?
Thanks!

I'm absolutely not an authority on this stuff but have noticed when using leaf you get the reaction, but none of the silver 'dots' coming up through it. Using the thicker foil they do. I make a huge bullet shape blob on the end of a mandrel and roll it on a half sheet. That way I have enough for a set or whatever.

It all depends on the look you are striving for. The more silver your use, the darker the mottling will be and as Moondance mentioned, the more dots of silver. Depending on what I want, I might use a little or a lot of silver and either leaf or foil. Play with it and find out what you like and dislike, it's the only way you'll learn how much and what kind of silver to use.
