View Full Interactive Version Of This Page : My new home/studio in Michigan
I'm so excited about this upcoming move. Here's a picture of my house and studio/workshop in Michigan. I'm moving up there May 30th. I'm not super thrilled about snow - although I grew up in Minneapolis, so I do know what I'm getting myself into. I'll get some updated pictures when I get back up there and the sun is shining and the trees are green. :)
The road is a mile from the garage and it's on 10 acres of land. Ooohh.. and there's a pool table in the basement that comes with the house. And the nearest neighbor plows the driveway for beer. ha ha
The detached studio is a summer workshop - there is a workshop between the garage and the house that is 24 x 14 or so. I can work in there once the snow starts falling - probably August, huh?! LOL
It looks fantastic ! You and your dogs are going to love living there I think !
I am curious, how did you find this place ? Do you know people there or did you just throw a dart at a map of the US and it landed there
Can't wait to see more pictures !
That is fantastic!!!!
10 Acres, what a dream!!!!!!!!
Wowza! I am dying!!! Looks like heaven and you deserve it after living in hell! Can't wait to see more pictures!!!!
My friend got married last fall and her husband owns two homes - this one and one directly on the bay of Lake Michigan. They are moving permanently to the bay house in May. When they got married last fall, they propositioned me with this. I went back and forth on it and decided it was too good to pass up. This one is about a mile from Lake Michigan - their other place is on the shore.
It looks great! And loads of space and peace and quiet!
That looks really great.Just so there is fuel to heat the house that would be fine with me. Snow or no. I would leap at it.
I can work in there once the snow starts falling - probably August, huh?! LOL
Could be!!! :D LOL!
What a great place! I've been living in Northern Michigan for 16 years now and love it.
How exciting. Should be a wonderful move. Just have plenty of beer. The neighbor will keep you plowed out. Staying warm might be a different matter, but hey you can't have everything. ;)
Where are you going along the coast. That may impact how much snow or cold you have. ~Or not, depending on the year.
I am in Michigan also...sailed on the "Great Lakes" for years...you will LOVE it! Have fun and enjoy you new adventure!
Thanks guys. I can put up with cold again. I hear it's not as bone-chilling cold as Minnesota is, so that's a plus. I'm down by the Wisconsin border, not up by Lake Superior. I can see the lights of Door County from the shoreline.
I've always loved water, so I think I'm going to be very happy to move there. My friends have a large sailboat that they take out all summer long, so hopefully I'll get out on the lake a few times.
Here in Phoenix, we are supposed to be hitting 100 degrees by mid-week. Then that's probably it until September - 100 on out for the next several months. I'm glad I'm leaving.
100 already? I'll take some snow and cold for 4 seasons. The lights of Door County? Should be beautiful.
Good luck with the move.
