Hi everyone, since about 2 weeks I'm working on a Bobcatt. So I am very new working with a combination of oxygen/propane. My problem is that I keep loosing propane-pressure. Every few minutes I have to open the valve a little more. I drives me crazy :-? I'm in the middle of making a bead and there it goes again. What am I doing wrong? Anyone has a tip for me?

If its your regulator, it should not be happening..... What are you setting it as initially and how much does it drop... Its possible there is a problem with regulator. You could take it to any good welding supply shop and have it checked out.
Also are you opening propane tank valve all the way?.... Full open is the accepted way... So in case of a "incident" you can only turn tank valve one way and that is off. Also valve has double seal so it does not leak around valve stem when full open. If you don't open tank fully its possible that valve is freezing up ( internally) and cutting down flow to regulator.

dale i hate to disagree on standard procedures. but speaking as a welder. thats kinda wrong.
Only oxy should be fully open this is to ingage the safty valve.
fuel should be 1/4 to one full turn at the vavle stem.
this is so you can close your fuel as soon as posable sence if you elemnate the fuel you stop the fire from an oxy rig.
regulators on the other hand . if you keep bumping up your psi. you might have to bump them up higher. i had trouble for a while bottoming out a regulator i had. i turned it up 5more psi.
if it does it and theres no fix with turning up the regualtor and wont keep a stedy pressure take it to a weld shop to be checked. if not check your propane tank and see if its full.
if there is any true doubt then take it to a weld shop and have them test it and show you how to set regulators and test them.
be safe above any thing else and get flash backs plumped in.

It sounds like your valves are seating. This happens with new GTTs. The more you use your torch, the sooner the valves will seat.
What is the pressure are you setting on your regulator?

Thanks everyone, I have been working on a HH before and this afternoon when I went to my glass-supplier he told me the Bobcat doesn't need as much pressure as the HH, so I guess I should turn the regulator down a bit. I'm going to try this and if this doesn't work I'll either give it some time, like you said kbinkster, or have it checked out.
