I've pretty much wrapped up my personal murrini challenge. Now I'm attacking my vast accumulation of shorts. I'm focusing on BHKBs or Big Honkin' Kid Beads. These aren't great as far as precision. I'm more into color, pattern, and odd shapes.

I agree, the kids are going to flip over those! They love BIG and they love bright. Heck, I'm not a kid and I love them too!

Thanks Patty, Joy, and Diane. I still have a lot of shorts to go, so I'll set my mandrel spinner on fast and keep working

Thanks for the kind words.
Thank you for posting this. It gives me an incentive to pull out those shorts for one of my torching sessions. I generally just send along all my orphans but this gives me a chance to try new and weird things with all those shorts!
Those are great! Love the shapes and colors. How fun!

Thanks all. I'm getting down to some shorts that date from my early torching days.

You have inspired me to set aside one day this weekend and use all the shorts on my table for BHKB.

Post pics when you're done. I am getting addicted to these. They're completely different from my "regular" beads. I was getting into a rut, and now I wake up thinking of new things I could do.

First go round in the kiln. It was so much fun, I'm going to dedicate tomorrow also.
Pictures on Monday. May be late as I start school again in the morning.

Sorry I was late with the photo, I only had 30 beads by Sunday and wanted to keep it going a bit longer. I have a few more in the kiln now and will make a few tomorrow and hopefully they will be in the mail by Friday. :)

Wow! Those are so fun and vibrant! They're making me smile. I love them all, but the cloud and rainbow ones are so inventive. Kudos to you for investing all that time and effort into BHKB's! :)

Thanks, Lisa. It's really improving my skills.
I just wish I could be a fly on the wall to see them choose! Great lot of beads there to inspire some young patients.

Fabulous, just fabulous. Well done you!
I love this idea so much I'm going to start an exchange using it. Thank you for such great inspiration! Now who wants to use up their shorts and make beads for BOC with me?
