So, I've seen tungsten, brass, and stainless versions of pokers and rakes.

I've used each of them at different times, but I'm not sure I noticed that much of a difference other than tungsten not sticking quite as much.

I was wondring if anyone has a strong preference, and if so , why? Is the cost and fragility of tungsten worth it to you?

I'm doing some product research :)

Thanks!

I love my simple and cheap stainless tools- but i do fall back to tungsten when I want to work in screaming hot glass or work handles

You can heat tungsten and it won't stick to hot glass, unlike other metals.

brass won't stick if you use bees wax

For poking and raking I prefer Tungsten. For shaping I actually prefer stainless, but I use brass a lot because most stainless steel tools are too thin and heat up too quickly.
