Well, I tried a similar donut bead. It was gorgeous. I modified it a bit, no dots. And the plan was to rake it into a rainbow, so no actual indents after I rolled it into a barrel. However...

It flunked. I couldn't get the colors to stay in their own donut.

Then I tried an "end of day bead" using twists, murrini, and frit on a white base.

So then I tried to make a twist out of orange, green and blue. Well I can awesomely mix colors without even trying. Needless to say, that bead got a water bath.

I'm very proud of my sculptural and glass forming talent. I'm pretty confident about picking up any tutorial and giving it a pretty good go. Color has continued to kick me in the behind.

From what I've read, some of the beads we don't like are loved by someone along the line, I say send them in anyway! After all, they don't know what you were aiming for, so they don't think of them as "failed".
