Hi Mike and Crew,
Would you please update your site to identify the quantity of Kugler Silver Brown (and other Kugler glass) that $10.00 buys? I figured it was per quarter pound, on a par with others selling the same glass, but dang! I noticed on my last invoice that price is per ounce . . . making it $160.00 per pound, when other suppliers charge between $32 and $45 per pound. Thanks!

CheriB,
Your post caused me to go back and check the invoice for a Frantz order I have enroute. I had ordered silver brown stringers - Model: 345181. The price listed is $10 and the only ordering option is 1. I ordered 1 with the assumption it meant 1 order of 1/4 lb because that is how most of the glass is listed. So, am I getting 1 stringer, or 1 oz of stringers or 1/4 pound? My order should arrive in the next day or 2. Crossing my fingers it's for 1/4 pound!

I got my package today, and sure enough, the #345181 Kugler Silver Brown costs $160.00 per pound from Frantz Art Glass. Each stringer was about $3.34 each! Wee bit steep. I guess if one has any questions, ask in advance.

Um...wow. I bought mine at CRloo. I don't remember the exact price but I want to say $30.00 per half kilo.

That must be a mistake. Has anyone called Frantz and asked them what's up? Maybe it was a pricing typo and they just didn't notice!

I sent Mike a PM about it earlier, and will probably hear back from him tomorrow.

Hi,
Mike answered my questions. Their kugler silver brown is $160.00 per pound, because he pays a higher price than other resellers, and because they are stringers instead of the larger cane sizes (like 8mm). Their site has been updated to reflect the $10.00 as a "per ounce" price.

Well, that makes me feel much better about how much I sell mine for. :)

So it's $95 a lb from hotglasscolor, but $160 from frantz? what the hell.

I dunno, but appreciate that Mike did explain it and updated their site to prevent more surprises....

Yeah, for rod I think - the 2 to 4 mm cane was $95 a lb. For that price, I'd buy the damn rod and pull it myself.

How can you buy a 1/4 lb of rod?

I am assuming they cut you a piece they think is close to 1/4 lb, weigh it and charge you for the actual weight.
