Interior walls are finally up, and DH is ready to build my workbench. So the first question he asks me, is how tall is it supposed to be. Now, I didn't start yesterday, so I have a pretty good idea what I think the height should be, and then I think, holy cow, there are lots of awesome folks on here to ask. So, just for giggles, if you could name the perfect height, what would it be?

I guess what I'm really asking is...is there a formula for this?
Do you ever torch standing up? Will you be doing other things where you like to stand?
If so, make it a comfortable height for that, and get a chair to bring you up to the correct height if you're sitting. At least that's what I did. Mine are kitchen cabinet height, more or less.

Actually it depends on your height and if you are going to sit, stand or use a stool. Somewhere about your wrist if you are standing, about your fingertips if you are going to sit
You can always add to the top to raise your torch

Hubby made mine the height of a desk. That way I can sit while I torch. We put Durorock on top of the plywood of the top ,that we got at H.D.

All my work surfaces are between 32 and 36" high, I love working standing.

34", and I sue a bar stool so that my flame/glass is the right distance away for my bifocals to work. I'm 6'1"
