I need help with RSS feed reader...

That's an understatement. Can someone either explain or point me in the direction of a site that explains it to me like I'm three years old? For some reason my brain just isn't working on this. What is it, how does it work, how can little old ME use RSS? Real Simple Syndication? HA!

I'm seeing all these cool little icons that are supposed to allow you to subscribe to things and also integrate feeds into your own blog? Is that right?

How do I do it? Is there a free, easy feed reader? I'm currently using a wordpress.org blog, if that matters.

Here is a free newsreader http://www.tristana.org/download/ I'm sure there are better readers out there but this one is free and simple to use.

I've been using Bloglines now to organize the sites I read but now I have to figure out if I can put it on my other (non blog) site.
