Look how the light dances on this gorgeous color. The back is as beautiful as the front. Constant color changes with light refraction. Yummy.

Kay will you stop doing that? You already made me buy silver dance, and now this.....*off to the store*
Absolutely beautifull, I must say your silver dance beads looked much much better then mine ( mine where almost black... guess I'll have to practice and figure out how to strike it:D:D)
Is that a momka color? Looks like DAP.

Thanks for posting Kay. I bought some of this and haven't tried it yet. I just got the push I needed!
Yes, it is a Momka's color.

Yep, it's their version of double amber purple. :D I love this color family!

I am a little spoiled. I live near Moma's facilities. Talk about being in Paradise!!
Purple Thunder is very much like DAP. It is sensitive to the flame when it comes to striking. I do a light flame strike and don't go over 1050 in the kiln. It could be self striking in the kiln. Haven't tried it. If you like swirly blues in your glass, try Momka's Silver Tears and Purple Haze. I have some in the kiln now and might post later but here is some eye candy for you... In fact, I think I have these scheduled for Ebay tonight....
Oh man, where is that drool icon when I need it?

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot wait for the class!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kay and my other boro brothers and sisters! I've been working alone and reading other forums and I am so glad to find a place to talk about this most wonderful but challenging glass!! I have been making boro beads part-time for 3 years and am always amazed at how much I struggle but keep at it! True love I guess. I tried Momka's glass and really like it. I wish I could join your class Kay but will be in the Edmonds waterfront arts and crafts show that weekend. Let me know it you do another one - I'm just over in Port Angeles.

Welcome Genny! This is your sistah-Val, and I'm so glad you joined our little boro community! When you mentioned "true love" I just knew you were "one of us", and that you'll fit right in! LOL
Genny, Would love to meet you none-the-less. Good luck at the Show. That is a fun one to go to.
Maybe we can make a plan and meet up at Momka's some day soon. Maybe we can talk Sabina into doing a demo on her marbles or something.... whadaya thimk? I live in Monroe and I have a good friend that I plan to visit sometime soon that lives in Sequim and she torches. We could get together there even?
Welcome to the forum..

Thanks for your welcome! I would love to come over to Seattle or meet you here on the peninsula....spent today with rods and my sample pack from Momka's and love the feel of the glass - how easily it melts and doesn't boil. I certainly have a long way to go before I would be able to get the colors to come out like you do Kay - but you can't really go wrong with her glass. Let me know how your schedule looks later this month.

Oh I so envy you all for beeing able to share time together ( and visit the momka's store whenever you like) *pout*
Well, if it's any consolation, I've never visited Momka's facility as I'm 1.600 miles away from Seattle.
I don't really get to hang out with other glassblowers much, either.

Me neither :(...I'm all alone in the middle of the forest! That's another reason that I was so disappointed (and P.O'ed - to say the least) travelling thousands of miles to go to Lauri's class last week...those who know me, know what a bust that was!! CB
Isn't it wonderful though that we all have this forum to come "home" to (even though CB, I'm still waiting to "come home to HT") LOL

I will be in touch.. I need to visit my friend in Sequim soon.. Perhaps, then.. :-)
And, yes, some people are lucky to live in the Northwest and have all this accessible to them... but this forum is the greatest..
