Just wondering what you all think...I added an "off topic" button to my site called "Around the House."
My sister who is in marketing (corporate world, not the world of artists!) thinks it takes away from the professionalism of a "business" web site.
I see her point but notice that many artists incorporate their personality (blogs, sharing personal info) and wonder if it's almost expected?
Any input?
Thanks.

HI Kathy, at first I was very personal in my site. But not anymore. I want the jewel site to look proffessional, so I rearranged and revise everything. Still 80% done in this.
And I got another domain name for my personal stuff, also for the bead site, I put all my personalities there, cause I am doing the beads for love mostly. Just my point of view! (((hugs)))

It all depends on who you're trying to reach.
For example with my Beadsforacure website, I have more personal info on my site, which I Think is important so that it shows that I have travelled the same journey as others affected by breast cancer. But on the other hand, I'm thinking I might do better if it were more of a business like website. Heres my product buy it or don't buy it. Because with it being more personal, customers may second guess the quality of the product. If they think it's coming from a large company it's better quality. It's just the way people think sometimes. That Big Corporation versus crafty lady at home comparison.
So I think your sister has a valid point.
So for my lampwork.ca website, I'm trying to keep it more professional looking. Not quite there yet, but I'll get there.
