Hello,
I am very new to this having been making beads on a hot head & putting them into vermicule i have recently got a minor burner and just a few days ago a kiln which has now been found a home. I tried to use it for the first time this morning. I set it up as it said in the instructions with the fibre shelf on the floor of the kiln and a section of ceramic brick on it at the back to rest my mandrels on (it has a bead door) however as it was coming upto the temperature on my instructions (250 degrees c) i could smell a burning smell so i turned it to stop and had a look inside ... the ceramic shelf has gone brown mainly at the back and when i removed it the back corner of the kiln has brown marks too !!
v upset and dont know where i have gone wrong as i followed the instructions any help hugely appriciated
