I know it varies, and I also know it's not always an exact number of full rods, but approximately how many 5-6mm rods are in a pound? Thanks!

Hmmm, usually about 4-5 12-13" rods in a 1/4 lb so I'd say 16-20 13" rods in one lb :)

what length? if you are talking 12" soft glass rods, figure about 12-16, depending on the density of the glass (the transparents are slightly less dense than the pastels).

For 20" boro rods, figure about 8-10.

Approximately 7 - 9 full 39" - 40" rods in a lb. cut at 13" gives you approximately 24. For stringers 2-3mm there are 24 in a 1/4 lb. It is not an exact science because even though as a retailer we order 5 -6mm you never really know what you are going to get. Lt. Teal for example almost always comes about 4mm so you will receive about 28 13" rods per lb. For us, that is why we sell by weight, so you can order as many or little and you only are charged what you get. Actually I believe many suppliers do it that way.
