Hungry for a Dichro Sandwich?
Milon Townsend has some revolutionary techniques for working BORO DICHRO in the flame. He'll show you how you can heat the coated finish directly in the flame and preserve the brilliant coating. He has developed THREE NEW TECHNIQUES JUST FOR THIS WEBINAR!!!! They will be shared for the first time ever!!!! Check out the images below and see the DICHRO SANDWICH made with PYREX PLATE GLASS sections with dichroic in the middle. Absolutely foolproof and NO BURNOUT!!!!

This interactive 2 hour webinar is produced by Firelady Productions, The Flow Magazine, and, of course.....Smilin' Milon. Video clips, Powerpoint, and live Q & A from you provide a lively online workshop. We record the event, and attendees get to watch it over and over for 30 days for FREE. Milon is combining his casting experience with his flameworking skills, and has created an entire new vocabulary of techniques for you to use.

You'll learn:

How to heat dichroic glass directly in the flame without burning it out.
Multiple methods for encasing the dichro with clear or color rod to protect and enhance the colors.
Wrapping a piece of dichro around a rod, and giving it a heavy wall tubing encasement to enhance the depth and brilliance of the dichro
Making a dichro sandwich in your kiln by fusing clear boro plate and dichro to produce galaxy cane that cannot be burned out
How to create effective dichroic wings to add to your figurative sculptures
How to make an organic boro base with dichro fused to the bottom to give your work presence and impact

This amazing event is yours for only $89.

I put together a quick trailer for the webinar. Just something fun.

You can see it on Facebook on the Firelady Productions (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) page.

When we were in Vegas for Glasscraft Expo, I interviewed Milon for a Glasscaster podcast.....and found out more about him than I ever knew....for instance, that he hitchhiked from Paris to Pakistan when he was still a teenager, and also how he started melting glass up in his bedroom with a bunsen burner lifted from science class when he was just 15.....

Anyway, he was wonderful to listen to.
You can hear the podcast also on the Firelady Productions Facebook page, as well as on:

This sounds great. It's too bad that it is not a webinar that we could download and watch later. The west coast time is smack in the middle of my work day :-(

Actually, by registering you do get a link to the recorded event that you can watch for 30 days. It's not a download, but it's a link to view online. We've got tons of movies and Powerpoints with some really revolutionary approaches to dichro. So......a month of viewing's not half bad, right?

actually, as someone who's taken them before, yeah it kinda sucks - about the time you want to go review the technique is when your 30 days run out. the sooner providers switch to a monthly subscription or library download model the better.

Our setup is that the attendees get 30 days free as part of the price of the webinar. But after that month the recording "goes public" and you can pay usually about $30 and watch the recorded webinar for a whole year.

Of course, you're not getting the joy of asking your own questions during a live event.....BUT....you're getting the benefit of the instructor and the questions of the event attendees. It's a pretty sweet deal. There are other webinar recordings out there where you pay a bit more and can view for just a week....
