Iris Amber Green... Used it?

I wanted to see if anyone has a pic of anything they've made with Reichenbach Iris Amber Green. It sounds nice but they don't have a pic on the site. Should I order it? I always order small amounts at a time from them but this is my first BIG Reichenbach order! Wohoo!!!

It is cool on Ivory. It turns a pretty green color.

I use it alot as frit. I haven't used it in cane form.

I didn't over-reduce these because I liked the effects so much just the way they were!

Oh snap! I have this frit! Just haven't had a chance to use it yet as I wasn't sure what to do with it. Now I want to go home and play.

Cool! I have to sit back and weigh my needs, wants,a nd money. Lol! Don't we all? I need some findings, silver, and I want glass. My OCR order ended up being over $300 so I have to do some shaving or wait until Monday after Ebay does something... hopefully. I hate summer on Ebay! I have shows coming up and I need lots of silly things like stick pin findings, wine stoppers, and cell lariats. Lol! I'll PM you as soon as I order Deb!

A lot of their canes don't have photos, but you can always check the frit (same color) because it almost always has a photo.

For those interested in frit from Olympic color, I recently got a notice from them that they will soon offer a 10-color frit pack for $42.50. The notice didn't give a date, just stated "soon". Hope it's real soon!!

This is what the email said:

Yeah, its not a lot, but it is a way to try several colors without having to buy a half-kilo of each. I just weighed 2 TBSP of size 1 Raku and it came out to 1.6 oz. So that's about $2.60/oz. I checked two sellers on ebay and the prices were $2.75 & $3.00/oz.

Bulk buys, of course, are a MUCH better deal!! :hide:

That's like their sample rod packs, definitely not a good deal compared to their other great prices but if you don't want to or can't invest in 1/2 kilos and full rod bundles it's great. We're just spoiled by bulk buy prices too! Lol!

Lauren, I've been playing with the Iris Amber Green since I picked up some rods from Val. I love it! I swirled some on an ivory bead with swirls of raku and then reduced. It's utterly gorgeous. Metallic swirls of olive and purple and gold and brown. (no photo yet)

I liked it so much I just ordered the rods - they were delivered yesterday.

I'll be happy to split the half kilo with you and Deb if you want to cut it down that much.

Barb, that sounds gorgeous! I'm ok with splitting 3 ways if Debbie is! Otherwise I could just get a full kilo cause I'm sure I wouldn't have any trouble unloading it between our next meeting and the Garage Sale. It sounds super yummy! I'm so excited now! : )

Seriously, there is something wrong with me. I have too much glass. But I can't help it!

I am waiting (impatiently) for Flamingo and Apricot cane to come off back order. They shipped me out a bunch of back-ordered stuff that arrived Weds and I was sad to see those not in there.

I have a theory... I think the glass has some kind of crazy agent the makes us obsessed. The more glass you melt, the more it intensifies! Lol! Ok, so maybe not. I think we all have that same sickness though. At this point I have almost every color of Moretti, a nice amount of Reichenbach and Uroboros, the beginnings of a stash of Bullseye, plus about 15 lbs of boro! Sick sick sick! My poor husband! I'm just lucky he doesn't concern himself with my Paypal account the same way I concern myself with his paycheck! Lol!

Anyway, I'd love to split some of the pinks and purples with someone! The colors that I'm excited about are the Sahara, Saffron, and the Light Copper Ruby. Yum!

Does anyone know what color of theirs would be similar to Moretti light grass green?

Lastly, the 10% off sale ends on the 18th so we should order by then. My priorities just changed again! Ha ha ha!!!

Ok, so who's in on this. I can run it but we need to fianlize the colors pretty much today. The 18th is Sunday. Lets do this. Everybody choose 2 or 3 colors so it doesn't get too big, and we'll just split it evenly. How's that sound?

Both. Just specify. And lets limit it to the first 8 people so that it doesn't get too out of hand. That's 16-24 color.
