I have just revamped a portion of our 2 car garage to accomodate a second torch (new one is a mini cc) I have my 104 coe glass on one side and my 90 at the other torch.
I used an old metal door for $35 from salvage for the worktop and am pleased hot glass doesn't make any marks.
Both my minor and the mini run great on a concentrator each. I so appreciate the thread on vinyl rail for glass storage. It holds allot and not as much wasted space as with the round PVC.
I finally bought some rolling carts to store frits etc as dust and bugs have been a big problem in past. The carts also roll under the table if I want more floor space.
The wall art I bought at a garage sale for pennies. A watercolor artist's early work and I find it quite inspirational.
My only goal now is to get a second ventilation set up someday. This project took 3 weeks and I feel so content to be in this space. My DH would love more of the garage for mowers etc but I am being very territiorial. I added a counter I bought at a garage sale ($10) to didvide the space & hung pegboard on the backs of his storage racks to define my cutting area & hang tools. Plenty of space if anyone wants to come play with fire! (I live in WA state near Vancouver)

I don't even have a garage. That would be too cool to be able to do this. WOW. Love it. Any time I get a room or studio building would you like to come over and revamp it?

Awesome! Great space - nice and bright.
Side note: I see you are near Vancouver, WA. My DD showed me a "My Space" about a young girl who was stabbed at a McDonalds in Vancouver. Very sad. Her friends have all put up tribute pages to her. I'm assuming that it is a ture story and not just one of those internet "urban legends" because they had clips from the news reports about the stabbing.

Thanks to all for the nice comments.
No, I didn't use the drain spouts. I used the "webbed" version os vinyl fence railing. I went to a fence supply place & they even cut it into 12in lengths for me. I like it because each small section can hold about a pound of glass and they fit together very snuggly. I got the idea from a pic and post in this section of LE.
Rose Leslie...I will be glad to come over and help you revamp when you get a room or studio bldg.
About the McDonald's stabbing story....I am not sure. I have not listened to the news in several weeks. How sad, if true.

Looks great! Very organized! and lots of inspiration on the walls!
I am so envious. I love the layout, the light, the everything. My dad lives in Vancouver, and I think that the garage would be a perfect place to torch in your climate. Congrats.

Yes, my garage is good for our climate here. We don't get much extremes in winter or summer. If it is over 80 I usually wait a few days and can lampwork again. Or open garage and lampwork at night (interested bugs get torched when I do that!)
As far a cleanliness goes, I have been making an attempt to clean it after each use. It only takes a few minutes. I don't want to have to weeks to get it straight again.
One of my motivators to clean it up and get organized was that I got a bad burn to my right wrist from cluttered workspace. Been lampworking 4-5 years and have never had a bad burn before.
I had a big bunch of stringers under my torch and a sm drop of glass stuck 2 together. I was pulling upward trying to seperate them (naturally the 2 I needed for my bead were the stuck ones....not the other 200 laying there)
My entire counter was full of stringers, shorts, etc and I did not believe I would have burned myself otherwise. So the 3 weeks it took my burn to heal was the time I used to revamp my space.
I think whatever works for folks is wonderful. Messy worked for me for years but now doesn't. I also now use 3 COE's of glass and organization is critical.
MeltDown, thanks for sharing your pic. Your space is about the size I had at my former place. Isn't it great to just have a space of your own.
Joyce, look me up when you are visiting your Dad & we can play with glass.

Jolene,
I absolutely will. I was planning to take a trip last month, but the airfare was tremendous (over 2400 for the four of use-two under five). But I will get up there, and I hope we can meet up.

Yes, Joyce, when you are in Vancouver I would love to meet up. Glass is so much fun! Keep me posted when you are heading my way.
