Hi all
I made a really neat looking little vessel on the end of a mandrel and now trying to take it off its stuck!!! Its my best one after trying SO many times!! I know, I know, I have a few cute little garden pics already but this one?......say it aint so!!! Any neat tips/tricks to getting unstuck??? short of wacking myself over the head with it!! Not that that would help it come off! LOL
Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
thanks!!!!

What have you tried already? Everyone has different methods for removing beads from mandrels.
I soak my mandrels (with beads still on) in water overnight. Then hold the bead with a towel, and hold the mandrel with pliers. Twist and pull.
Chad's idea is a good one. Also, you might try chilling JUST the mandrel. That can cause it to contract enough to pull it out with pliers.

I've heard that holding the bead with one of those jar opener pads (looks like a round rubber pad) can give you that extra bit of grip to get a stubborn bead off....
good luck, Sue!

If you dont have a rubber jar opener pad, try using a rubber glove (the ones like you use to wash dishes or clean the house with).
Yeah. A towel works well too. Plus, I always hold them with something just in case one breaks. You only have to cut your palm open once to learn that lesson. Ask me how I know...

Oh, GOOD point, Chad. Definitely a good point.

Thanks guys! I have tried soaking it in water over night.......soaking it in coke for a bit, using a rubber mat and plyers to twist, and still nothing!!!
Has anyone heard to use wd 40? I don't know where I read it but I'm wondering if that will work! So disapointing to have the one that came out really good get stuck!!! LOL
thanks,

Sometimes, if I take something with a very fine point, such as a super sharp tweezers or a beading needle, and run it right into the crack and around. Then all the grip and twist and whatnot.

I bought Bounce last night and cut up a sheet and put a square in my water with the beads on the mandrel - in five minutes they slid off and another 20 minutes soaking in the water and all of the release came right out of the holes. I'm using Bucket of Mud release. Thank you - not only are my beads clean but smell good!!
Above is a quote from a thread in the Family Room a while back about Bounce drier sheets. Maybe it will work. It's worth a try! I would love to see a picture of your vessel! Jenny

Well after almost 2 weeks in the freezer it has finally come off........I took it out and had dh try it and it was still stuck, SO not wanting to give up I took a piece of wire and kept poking it down insite...then twisted and it came off.
Funny that you posted to do that bonibell. It sure worked!!!
Thanks everyone!!!
