I have an EX-15 concentrator,. I have read that there is an optimum ambient temperature in which to use it, but I cant seem to find it anywhere. I am craving a torch session but not sure if my studio is warm enough. Anyone know what the coldest temperature is in which this machine will run without compromising it?

From the Millenium manual 55 degrees F to 90 degrees F.

Thanks. Sadly, I can't torch yet. My studio is only 50F and once I get the ventilation and intake going, it will draw cold air in making it even colder.

I think the temperature requirement is to make sure that the air compressor lubricant is warm enough to properly protect the moving parts.

Once the machine starts to move its parts around it will warm itself up so the temperature of the room doesn't have that much impact after its started.

Same thing with a car. It is the first couple of revolutions that don't have enough oil coating the internal parts that shortens the life of the machine.

My neighbor had these magnetically mounted electric heaters for his exotic bird cages that would heat the metal just enough to warm them without giving the birds a hot foot.

Might something to look into if you really want to work the very cold.

Another thought would be to run the oxycon in the house and send the oxygen to the studio on a long hose.
