Okay everyone. Let's try this again.

I'm going to start a box, and we'll hope it doesn't get lost this time.

The only "rules" I'm going to impose are these:

1. E-mail me your name, address (no P.O. Boxes) and phone number - chad@soleiletlune.com. Don't PM me. I want to be able to keep them all together in one place. Put BORO BOX in the subject line. BE SURE TO INCUDE YOUR LAMPWORK ETC. SCREEN NAME.

2. Don't keep the box more than one week (7 days) unless you let me know ahead of time. If you know you are not going to be in town, or have something coming up that will prevent you from getting it out quickly, let me know when you send me your info, and I'll schedule accordingly.

3. Insure the box for at least $200 when you ship it out, and e-mail me the tracking number when you do. When the box is headed to you, I'll e-mail you with the tracking number and the address of the next person.

4. Put back as much as you take out. No, I'm not worried about the values matching up to the cent, but if you take out 10 rods of color, don't replace it with a bag of frit. Everyone has been involved in something like this before, so just play nice.

5. You don't have to post what you took out/put in, but you are welcome to if you want. On another board, we hosted a box and we put in a small notebook. Everyone wrote in the book what they took out and what they put in, and wrote a little something in there if they felt like it. We're going to do that again, but it's optional. You don't have to write anything.

6. I would like to ask that everyone put in a gift for the next person. It should be something finished. A bead, a pendant, a marble, etc. Doesn't have to be something large, or something fancy. Just something you think the next person will enjoy. And, while it would be nice if it was something you made, you can put in something someone else made, just as long as it's made of glass.

I'll give everyone until August 12 to get their info sent in. That also corresponds with the end of the boro bulk buy I'm hosting. I want to get that done before I start this (plus, I'll have plenty of new glass to put in).

Can I play? Please, Please, Please!!!
Although shipping to Sydney, Australia might be too big a hurdle.
Anyway, a wonderful idea and maybe one day we will have enough lampworkers in Australia to do the same thing.
But if there is any way...
Please consider.

I don't have a problem shipping to Australia, but the person that is going to have it just before you may. Perhaps we could work out something where you split the shipping with them?

What does everyone think?

I'd love to play, and I don't mind shipping to Australia. :) Or maybe you and I could do a small trade Esin? Or maybe there can be an Australia box. Just throwing ideas out!

I'd like to play. maybe we could start the box by shipping it to austrailia first before it gets too heavy gobal priority is $9.00

That's fine with me. I am also going to arrange it so it goes to all the Canadian people in a row, so it doesn't have to keep going back and forth.

Thank you all,
Yes, shipping to Australia does add up. I buy most of my glass from the US, and I am going broke from the shipping fees!
If you come up with something then I am all for it! Otherwise an Aussie box will have to do! (But I am afraid it won't be as interesting!)

Or, instead of shipping the whole box to austrailia, you email a picture of the contents to the person, then they pick out what they want and only that would be shipped. The box would then be shipped to the next person on the list, and the person in Austrailia would send a package to that person as well containing their contributions. Probably not as much fun as getting to go through the whole box, but I imagine it would be a lot cheaper on shipping. I sent two antique oil lamps to Austrailia and the shipping charge was $70 USD - ouch.

Yes, I would be happy with that. This would be my first ever box! I am so excited! The only thing is, aside from the formalities, what exactly do I have to do? Someone might like to enlighten me?

Hey Chad, can you confirm who's in? Thanks!

Cosmo

Actually, I neglected to ask for everyone's LE name, so all I have are real names for most people, and I don't know if they'd want them posted on here. I'm adding that to the rules, so if everyone can send me their name (that hasn't already) I can update the list and post it on here.

I signed up. Sounds like lots of fun. I have lots of sample packs, odd colors, maybe some tools would like to move on. I'll have a long talk with the glass, and various frits, tools, trays, this and that...If nothing volunteers, I guess some will be voted out of the studio. Heading towards new and exciting adventures. Thanks for putting this together.

Just letting everyone know I haven't forgotten. I have a new shipment of glass on the way, so I'm waiting on that to get the box going.

Cosmo

I'm waiting on a shipment of glass so I have plenty to add to the box to get it going. So, I'm going to go ahead and allow people to still sign up through the end of this week. Then I'll get it sent out Monday of next week. Remember, be sure to E-MAIL me your info, not PM. If you want to be in, E-mail.

Sorry it's taken so long everyone. I've just been swamped at work. I've been working 7 days a week for about a month and a half now. I have spoken to another participant in the box and they have volunteered to get it started for me, so I expect them to do so very shortly.

It's me. it's me! Yippee-skippee...I'm going to be getting the "master list" from Chad, and will indeed get our box rolling along in the next day or two! I've been getting a bunch of goodies ready...look out for a fresh thread soon...
