Cool! I must say that the press made me want to break out into song . . .

Oh I wish I were an Oscar-Mayer Weiner . . . See what extreme heat and total lack of sleep can do to an otherwise normal (relatively speaking) person???

Those are some really nice tools you have!! I'm sure that you already know though.

MJ... now of course you'll have to be the first person to make a curved hot dog necklace :) It would look cute with a bun and line of mustard!

I'm really happy that Amy made the press for the curved mandrel. It's NOT an easy mandrel to use, and this press should make it alot easier.

How clever! Collaboration is such a good thing! Two heads better than one any day of the week.

Alas, something else to add to my want list. Very cool.

I got mine yesterday also. It was fun but had to get used to adding glass to it and heating it. I haven't gotten it out of the kiln yet. Hopefully it will look ok.

Inspiration has a tutorial on their site. I haven't tried mine yet but I remember something like you have to soak it a little, rock it back and forth to loosen it while gripping it on the straight part of the mandrel. All rocking/pushing - no twisting.

I'm going to let DH get mine off. It's soaking some more. It's going to be tricky getting it off I think.

Here are the instructions from their site:

Bead Removal:
DO NOT TWIST THE BEAD.
Get your Vise-Grips out.
Soak the bead in water for a few minutes.
Apply the vise grips on the straight part, right beind the curvature.
Pull or push the bead to get it to loosen. You are trying to rock it around the curve. I use my thumb.
If you need, use a piece of wood against the Vise-Grips to lever the bead lose.
When loosened, DO NOT REMOVE. Rock the bead back and forth around the curve, keeping it wet until you find it much easier to move.
Now you can take it off.
String or pipe cleaner can be used for cleaning

Hi all!

The curved beads are harder to remove then regular beads, but most people are able to get the hang of it. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!
