View Full Interactive Version Of This Page : Yuck! Raku and ivory!
I don't know where I read on here than I could use those two together, and I think I may have even saw a picture of beads made with the combo, and they looked very nice! Well, I made ONE bead and yuck I got the blackish muck color plus the raku where the two had reacted. I didn't know that ivory reacted with the raku like that, so again, what are the chemical color properties of raku?? Does it contain sulfur like the yellows and ivories??
How about this: What colors would you NOT use with raku? I found out today that it looks very nice over a base of dark amethyst transparent! :)

The only time i like it on ivory is when i'm using big frit. It does the same thing on dk trans amber too...or so I just found out! It will do it a bit on coral, but it is kind of a neat effect. It rocks on trans dk teal!

Those reactive glasses just don't play nice in the same sandbox! Takes next to nothing of raku on ivory to get a black mess!

I love Raku and Ivory
So do I. I also love Ocelot Spots and Ivory, which is supposed to also be a no-no. The trick to avoiding gray muck is to crank up the oxygen.

Well I would imagine being Opal Iris Orange aka Raku that is does have some sulfer in it as well as lots of silver.
These are a set of my so far favorites of Ivory and Raku

Wish they were mine :)
Silver Blue on Ivory makes the same brown on the edges. But I think it has potential!
