Hi,
I got some glow in the dark powdered glass to add some funk to my Halloween designs, but before I get started I wondered if anyone who has used this in the past has any tips.

I assume it is just like powdered frit and that it won't burn off (think pixie dust!) if I heat it after applying?

Do you usually sprinkle the powder, roll the bead in it, or heat a clear stringer, load the heated ball of the stringer and apply to the bead?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Elenor -- I've used it just like pixie dust. (It doesn't work like frit, unless you bought glow-in-the-dark frit.) I used it encased; and just like pixie dust, it can be a little difficult to encase -- but it's well worth it!

It was fun to have jack-o-lanterns that actually had glow-in-the-dark eyes, nose, and creepy GRIN!

I usually use mine as encased stringer to decorate a bead. Melt a blob of glass and roll it in the glow powder, then encase the blob with a pale transparent color. The glass doesn't like to stick to the glow powder so I usually attach it to the glass at the base of the blob and bring it up over the top and then down the other side and attach it to the rod there. Keep doing this until the whole blob is covered with the transparent glass. I melt this between two metal chopsticks and then pull it into stringer from there.
Hope this helps

Thanks to both of you!! I will have to try with the encasing...I did that and the powder on the end of the stringer didn't want to stick to the base bead. I will need to keep playing with it.

Thanks again!!
