The latest from your friends at Lapidary Journal, trying like heck to promote next month's Bead Fest, which was in suburban Philly PA, but now is away out in Reading PA:

The fifth annual Bead Fest Philadelphia, a five-day celebration of the bead arts, will be
held this October 4– 8, 2006 at the Greater Reading Expo Center in Reading, PA.

Learn how to make fabulous jewelry from expert instructors!
If you haven't signed up yet for classes - don't delay! Classes are filling up quickly.

Browse over 150 classes and workshops with space remaining, taught by renowned bead and
jewelry-making experts from around the country. Sign up for hands-on workshops on
bead-stringing, beadweaving, lampworking, wire jewelry, metal clay, business, and how to make,
market and sell beautiful beaded jewelry creations. Classes are scheduled all 5 days (Oct.
4 to 8, in three hour (half-day), seven hour (full-day) and two-day timeslots. Many classes
only have a few spaces left and are filling up fast. Online registration will close on

Center
A complimentary Bead Fest shuttle bus will run between the hotels listed below and the
Greater Reading Expo Center from Wednesday, October 4 through Sunday, October 8 for Bead
Fest students and attendees. See your hotel lobby for times.
Shuttle will stop at: Ramada Hotel & Conference Center (Reading), The Inn at Reading,
Abraham Lincoln Wyndham Reading Hotel, Sheraton Reading Hotel, and the Hampton Inn
(Wyomissing, PA).

Shop for beads, supplies and jewelry!
Unusual and fine beads will be displayed, along with wire, findings, kits, stringing
materials, books, videos, tools, equipment, and supplies. Special free demonstrations on
advanced bead making, wireworking, and bead stringing along with flamework bead making will
help enthusiasts improve and refine their design skills.

Hmm.... strange that they are promoting the "Meet the Teachers Reception" to the general public, and they haven't told the instructors anything about it yet...

Thanks. As soon as I posted the question I thought why not just look it up. If I were working w/ boro I'd sign up.

Any reports as to how this show went? Was it a good show? Vendors, how did you do?

Well, it turned out that Arrow Springs didn't bring any glass except for their new ASK 104 glass, so there was no boro to be found except one place... me.

I took all the glass I owned, and came home with a small bag of frit and 4 or 5 half rods of color. That's it.

So, yeah, I did well. And I didn't even have a booth...

:D

Yeah. If I knew they were going to do that, I would have brought a whole truck full of glass....
