What can I cover the carpet with so it doesn't get burned to badly?...We are working on my work space and realized that the floor is carpeted (fairly new at that)...I am only taking up 1/3 of the room so I was wondering what should I cover the carpet with...Any suggestions would be helpful...

Thanks...
Eileen :)

A sheet of plywood will work, but I would add a welder's tarp on top of the plywood, just because. Plywood will burn, but probably not catch fire from a shard of hot glass. However, just because I am cautious, the welder's tarp on top would really make me happy. You can use just the welder's tarp on top of your carpet also, but again, I am somewhat cautious.

I like that idea...I'll have to check that out...My husband ordered me a large rubber-like mat used by welders...I'm hoping that is enough...We'll have to see how big it is...

Thanks for your help...
Eileen :)

what has worked for me all these years is a cheap carpet from walmart. short pile, they are flame retardant. If anything hot its it...the carpet melts...and you will have a hard black spot.
