View Full Interactive Version Of This Page : Boro on a hot head
Can you use Boro on a hot head. I am starting to experiment with other glass. Before I go buy some I want to know if I can use it. If It is possible and any has boro shorts they could spare I would appreciate it(only if you can use them on a hot head).
Thanks

well let's say you can melt them on a HH if you wait long enough, but you won't be able to get the colors you want out of it. Boro has a 2300 F working temp and between 1050 and 1500 F striking range. A HH simply won't get hot enough to provide the perfect breedingground for the colors to develope.

Yeah, it's a total bummer. I got 1/8 lb with my last glass order just to give it a try... Man, that stuff is HARD! It took a good 10 minutes just to melt enough to make a small bead and the pretty colors never came :( Boo! Oh well, 'till I can afford a new torch and all the stuff that goes along with it there will be no boro for this girl. Pout Pout Pout!
