uggg - I had someone do something nice for me - they reorganized my glass - I did smile and say thank you but HOW DO YOU TELL INTENSE BLACK FROM REGURLAR BLACK - yeah - I tried ivory reaction - liked what ever black I put on there and I tried making a simple twisty with the thought that the black would look purple with the clear...sign
Anyone know of a really easy cool way of determining if it is IB or black?
Cathy
Cathy, Slightly heat the tip of a rod and pull a thin short stringer. Leave it attached so as not to mix the rods up. Intense black will look blue in a bright or sun light. Regular black will look purple.

Thank you
Going to go do that now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My pleasure, I have mixed them up before. When I have paid for intense black I always check to make sure the order was correct. Mistakes have happened and it's easier to resolve a problem right away rather than down the line.

Also, I find the intense black rods are thinner as the regular rods as well. I always put a dot of nailpollish on similar colors ( bullseye clear and lauscha or moretti clear)

Pick the rod you think is intense black and make a small amount of frit. Then make a small bead and sprinkle some of the frit on the bead. If you get it really really hot and it breaks up into lace you have intense black.
Make frit by forming a ball on the end of the rod. smash it with mashers and drop it in cold water---instant frit

Also - put a small drop on white (204) and melt it in - regular black will appear blue/purple, intense black will stay black.
