Raku Stringer or rods? Where? Dumb question #4,034

All Raku has a lower COE than 104, correct? Who is a good source of stringer or do I have to pull my own from the big canes?

Also as a non-kiln using newbie, should I only be using small amounts of reactive frits, stringers over COE 104 glass?

What about using raku as a base and then putting soft glass frit or stringer over that?

Yes, it's a lower COE. It does't come in stringers per se, but Olympic Color Rod has canes and some of them are pretty skinny, maybe 3 to 4 mm.

Yes, you can do the raku as a base with the soft glass on top. Just don't encase it.
