Hot head versions?

Are there different versions of the hothead? I may be buying one that I'm told is the "old version" and I'm wondering if that makes a difference.

Yes there are at least two versions.... The older version has a spud with a orifice in it you can take apart and clean if it gets gunked up. They are also more sensitive to adjustment. Newer version has no parts you can clean and is more difficult to adjust flame height... Older version is probably better torch.

Lucky you too! I have the old one and the newer version, and there is a difference. The old one is much more adjustable, and I cleaned it once when it gave me trouble. Not a problem since I cleaned it, at least until it needs it again! :)

I have just got a new one and I must say man ,does it run HOT to what I have been used to. They aren't as adjustable but then I have to say I am working so much faster. I like the new one alright. Fiona
