Ok everybody, I completed it. Started Sunday by taking pictures. Monday more pictures. Tuesday and Wednesday, no time, Thursday done. Pretty good for me to have started and finished a project in one week.

Anyway, there's a lot of pictures so I decided to keep the tutorial on my server and just point everybody to it.

Go to my web site www.anakinsglasseye.com (http://www.anakinsglasseye.com) and look in the righthand "Latest News and Developments" box. You'll see it there.

Eventually I will find a more permanent place for it.

Hope it helps everyone.

I have not proof read it yet (I'm a little buggy and need to get away from the computer for a while), so if you see any glaring typos or creative spelling, you'll understand.

Keep it lit!!!

Perfectly done. I love some of the wording you used to describe steps. How can anyone not love: "Heat and condense the tip so that it is engulfed by the mass."

Also, I have never known to keep adding more rows of designs after you have already started the implosion. This will be a major breakthrough for me!

Thank you!!!!!

Hi
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love off the madrel work.

Have a question for you....
When you go to add your second third set of dots do you dot in the same spot as befor or over lap or just on clear glass?

In step 5 you say " Continue the process and occasionally marver gently" does this mean the area where the dots are or the sides?

Do you have any advice on where to start making it a pendent rather then a marble?

I have a very interesting cyclinder shaped bead ~ not a clue how that happened lol
I am working with a hot head and soft glass and PPP stands for patience patience and more Freacking patience. lol

It was so fun I am going to go play again.

Again thank you ~ I will be using implosion for a very loong time!

Chilliwack - that's a cool name. That's what ya do when you enter a room with a bunch of chillin buds and you wack one on the shoulder and say "whut's up, bro?"

In the turorial I did not overlap and of the dots. You've made me curious though, what would happen if you melt in the dots, marver the maria flat, then add dots that slightly overlap. Oh, I know what I'm doin tonight.

You only marver to make the maria face flat again. So, no, don't marver the sides.

When your design is imploded about half way, I'd say, you can turn it into a pendant. Just marver the back flat, add some color, some frit, or some dots and melt in. Flatten again, attach a punty to the back, remove the rod from the "front" of the pendant, melt and shape the face, do the loop with the method of your choice and break away the punty.

Hope this helps.

Anakin - I found your tutorial while visiting your website (very, very nice btw..... DD LOVES the music - she won't let me turn it off!!!)
Thank you so much for the wonderful, excellent, extremely clear and concise tutorial! The pictures are beautiful and the descriptions are excellent... Because of you, I actually dug out my boro (which I never do) and made my first implosion pendants for DD and DH. While they're pretty pathetic, it's a start and I can't wait to make more!!
Thanks so much!~!!!!

Brad thank you so much for the instructions on how to do this, I have often marveled at the beauty of the implosion, and now I can try it on my own. Again thank you

Brad, thanks so much! I made a pdf file out of your tutorial so I could get it all on the pages to print. I'll be happy to send it to you to post on your site if you want to distribute it that way.

OK, the first 2 I tried I kept having the Maria nearly fall off the end of the rod. What am I doing wrong? Then the 3rd, I decided to heat differently and although it didn't come off, it got terribly off centered. 4th, started looking great, but then I may have mashed too hard because instead of those mercurial globs, I ended up with flat jellyfish again. sigh.

Maybe the moon is off or the tides are weird or maybe I'm implosion challenged. I'll keep trying.
