I need to figure out how to make burgundy for a wedding party unless there's already a burgundy that I don't know about in coe 104. Any suggestions?
Transparent or opaque?

If you don't mind mixing glass, here's a recipe that I copied down. I'm not sure where I found it.
(oh, and it's Moretti)
Opaque burgundy – 1 part 438 Purple Red, 2 parts 220 Periwinkle
Try Effetre 452, Wine Red, aka Dark Brown Red.

Thanks Corri.
I've got 438 and periwinkle on hand so I'll give that a try.
Thank you so much, everyone for your suggestions and the other links.

Bright red encased in Dark Amethyst then etched makes a to die for deep red.

Please post when you're done! I'd love to see how your beads turn out *smiles*

I like transparents, so a clear core, layer of dk amethyst, and then a layer of striking red make an awesome garnet trans.
Ok, I tried a few things. Anything with purple red came out yukky. I usually have not good results with it and yet the end of the rod after using it is really a pretty red.......
The first is rubino over periwinkle and the second is dark amethyst over light red.....
