I have an Olympus Camedia digital camera, model C-50 Zoom, given to me several years ago. My question: Will it work for taking good pictures of my beads? The book says the Macro mode will focus down to .7 feet (8.4 inches). Is that going to get the closeups I want or do I need something else? Thanks for any assistance. David

Sounds like it would work very well. Here is my suggestion: try it!

This is the wonderful thing about digital. There is no cost (other than your time) attached to practice shots and mistakes.

Get some good lighting and a tripod and ------> Try it!!!!!!

Let us see your results. I'm sure you'll do just fine!

Try it! I love my Olympus, but like all digital cameras you need to put some time in to learn to use it to it's fullest potential! TRIPOD, essential for me.

Good luck, I also think you'll do fine with some practice!

I have an Olympus Evolt and it takes great pics of my beads. I use a light box, lights, tripod and always set the white balance on the camera, and then touch up on the computer later. I'm happy with it.
Here's a couple of images with it:

Just got back from vacation. Thanks to all for your suggestions. I'll try them. Gee, we missed the daily bead shows while we were gone!
