I know with the Marj Bates make a knob kits, you're supposed to be able to use one mandrel and just keep changing the tips as you work. Has anyone done this successfully? I've seen someone do a demo, and she said it's such a PITA that she just bought a bunch of extra mandrels. What are you supposed to do? Hold the knob you just made in a heatproof glove and twist it off the mandrel? I'd be a little leery of doing that -- no, I'd be a whole lot leery of doing that. (And I don't own kiln gloves, anyway.)
