Hi,

I'm a fairly new beader and have learned more than I can say from the generous sharing that is done on this site. What a great group of people! I have progressed well in the last 6 months and am at the point where I want to challenge myself a little more. I have noticed a style of bead sometimes referred to as an "asparagus bead". It has several layers of opaque and transparent glass that appears to be a similar techniqe to an encased floral, but more similar to a fish scale style. I don't know if this is a proprietary design or not. I've practiced on this until I could fill a bowl with my rejects, and I'm hoping someone out there can share their tips, if possible and keep me from wasting more of my precious glass. I hope I'm not stepping on anybody's toes here, and if this is someone's personal design I congratulate them on a beautiful bead! 8-[

I looked on e-bay to see if I could find a good representative sample. The best I could find was a beautiful set by RM Lampwork. Please check out her auctions and you will see a great example!
