View Full Interactive Version Of This Page : AION and gaia can you show me a photo?
In july I bought 1/2 pound each of Kronos and Olympia Rain. I absolutly loved the kronos and am down to my last rod and I have ended up giving away most of the olympia rain away cause it was so hard to strike.
Anyway I am thinking about buying a 1/4 lb of GAIA because it seemed a bit different from all the other silver glasses and looked a nice greeny colour in the photo I saw.
Could someone show me some photos of both GAIA and AION.
Also is GAIA easy to work?? Which would you buy out of the two GAIA or AION??
Thanks for your help guys!

Look over at the Silver Glass gallery thread, there are loads of pics there! I love Gaia best, it goes lovely iridescent colours, and the green is very pretty. Aion is harder for me to work, and more subtle colours.
Of the two I've only used Gaia. It's easy to work. A little too easy. You can overdo it very quickly. A few passes through a slight reduction flame is all that is needed. Here are a few of my Gaia pics...

On black it looks blue, but by itself with clear stringer it is green.

I love Gaia as a base glass. It offers a hazy iridescence that seems to almost fume any accent colors that you use with it.
This bead was done with gaia, you can't see it in the photo but it in life it has a very nice, yet understated iridescence.

This one also uses gaia and you can actually see the irredescence in the photo.

Lenora - Wow, those are striking!! **droool**
Lydia, that bottom one takes my breath away! Wow!!
There is some Gaia in today's show and tell, Vivian's beads (vivbama) and I looove what she did with it! Awesome!
Gaia's very easy to work, at least on my Lynx. I had a hard time with it on the Carlisle miniCC, but other people say they work it on a miniCC, so I put that down to my unfamiliarity with the torch. On my Lynx, Gaia's like falling off a log. I like the light oil slick iridescence, not the sort of blues that you can get with Kronos. You just get a yellow finger or two in your flame and brush it lightly over the glass until you get the effect that you want.
I haven't had a chance to turn on my torch since I got my Aion -- grrrrr!

The heck with understated (and I'm just kidding, Lydia - your understated beads are just lovely) - I went with full blown iridescence (these are Gaia):

Thanks Stephanie!
Mary Beth, those are gorgeous!!!
Laurie, your bead is beautiful too! The silvered cinnamon/gaia combo is one of my personal favorites.
Gaia is the easiest to work with that I have used so far. I love it! I just got some Aion and it is not as cool. I would love to see some more pictures of that.
