#-o Hi Peeps! I bought a couple rods of each of the Bullseye Lustre Glass colors, but I am not having any luck getting the "Lustre" to show up. How do you do it? Thx!

I have used it a little, made some spacers, turned down the oxygen (reduction) and flashed it in and out of the flame.

Here is a photo of a seashell I made using the Bullseye luster glass and all I did was turn my oxygen down so that I had a good, strong propane flame and then quickly passed the bead through the propane until I got the luster effect I wanted. It is just wonderful glass to work with the the amber gives such a beautiful gold color.

Ditto, I work on a concentrator and therefore I turn up the Propane, this works better for me than turning down the O2.
Diane - that is a beautiful shell bead!
This is BE luster on BE French Vanilla.
Wow Lara - those are beautiful - is that the Amber Luster?
Yes, Amber Luster. I'm less sucessful with the blue.

Oooh pretty beads! I actually turn up the propane on a minor. It works better for me on any reduction-like glass.

WOW!!!!!!!!!! Gorgeous beads! Amber on French Vanilla..BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Thx for the pics and the info; one more question; do you flash the bead in the propane when still glowing or when the bead is finished? I'm having troube with mine being either completely sooty or mottled all over; not shiny all over. Thx!

I have that problem too Leda. It has been awhile since I used this, but I think I let it cool off a bit, then flash in the reduction flame, then into the kiln.

I don't flash mine in the yellow part of the flame. I leave some oxygen in the flame and flash at the back in the blue portion. That way I don't get soot. I also let the bead cool a little first ( not glowing ).

Sounds good; I'll try it!
